The Adhara Academy Chronicles 2

Lorraine Leydon was the first person in the long illustrious history of the Academy to ever be removed as the Student Council President for any reason other than ill health or injury, and whilst her removal was just another of the many things Lorraine was fated to be remembered in history for, it created an issue for the other students. After the victory party at Rumpton Court Palace, Ta-Shra arrived back at the dormitory apartment she shared with Lorraine in the early hours of the morning. She had driven back to the school in one of Adhara’s self-driving cars with her brother and their friends, before parting company with them in the hall and heading off to her dormitory to make some pretence of going to sleep. Ta-Shra hadn’t expected to find Lorraine at home. Despite what Tiger-Lily had said about Lorraine being expelled, Ta-Shra couldn’t bring herself to believe the process had been that quick and thus had assumed Lorraine would either be in the hospital having her wrists healed o

Keep Quiet

Investigations by the Department of Illegal Bad Stuff have produced strong evidence not only that the kingpin of the Sunshine operation resides on Adhara Space Station, but that this individual also has an ally within the Adhara security force. Captain Roxzamora is the head of Adhara Security and the strongest being in the Alliance, not to mention her extensive political connections. One of her grandmothers is the president of the Alliance, the other is the Queen of Bim and that’s only the tip of the very large iceberg. With such powerful connections how has the captain not been able to unearth the identity of the criminal, you think to yourself.

For a moment you wonder if Admiral Hag’s willingness to do anything to achieve her goals could have lead her to join forces with criminals. The alliance service pays very well and as an admiral with such extensive achievements under her belt, Hag is no doubt raking the money in but the trade in illegal drugs is very lucrative too. In the Alliance there’s no such thing as having too much money. Could the sunshine kingpin’s ally be even higher up the chain of command than your intel suggested?

“I’ve been sent to Adhara to look into a few leads regarding the presence of the drug on the station. The reports my department have received from Adhara Security suggest that Sunshine first arrived here earlier this year. My investigation will focus almost exclusively on the method in which it was brought to Adhara and the point of origin, which we currently believe to be Cygni,” you explain, carefully omitting that you have evidence that the kingpin of the Sunshine trade lives on Adhara. If either Captain Roxzamora or Admiral Hag are involved in the drug trade, you can’t afford to let them know that you’re aware of that there might be a connection. Both women have the capacity to ruin your career or worse make you disappear.

“I see,” Captain Roxzamora says nodding her head thoughtfully, “Speaking for Adhara Security I can assure you that my officers and I will do everything in our to help in your investigation. If you require assistance, I can assign a few officers to work with you. I’ll put together a team of my best people who will be completely at your disposal for the entirety of your stay on Adhara.”

Thank Captain Roxzamora but subtly request to work with as few of her officers as possible

Thanks Captain Roxzamora and accept the team.
